COVID 19

The village of Orford has something to offer to everyone – walkers, sailors, cyclists, bird lovers, music and art lovers, those interested in history and food, or simply wanting to relax.

Since the start of the COVID 19 pandemic our local businesses have followed government guidelines whilst providing vital services and support for the local community. Visitors, in general, have also followed the guidelines. With recent announcements by the government, our businesses are reviewing what services they are able to offer to the anticipated increase in visitor numbers and these will be posted on their websites. However, it is important to remember that a large majority of the local residents live in this tranquil area for age or health reasons and to heed the words of the Chief Medical Officer Chris Whitty:  “The pandemic is not over and we must all keep to social distancing rules to continue the improvement”. Please be careful and considerate.

Please continue to use the website to understand why this small area of Suffolk offers so much for those who live or visit here and how you can help to minimise the effects of tourism on the village by understanding its sensitivity to the impact of increasing numbers of visitors.
