Pump Street Bakery

Artisan bread and fresh croissants and pastries are baked daily at the bakery in Gedgrave and sold at the shop in the square. Fine chocolates, wine, olive oil, vinegars, loose leaf teas and coffee are also available to take home. The bakery and café are run by Chris and Joanna Brennan, the father and daughter team who opened the bakery in November 2010.

Come and enjoy a cup of coffee and a pastry, a light lunch, or a weekend morning brunch in our relaxed and elegant café. In the summer, take in the fresh Orford air on our terrace. We have taken great care to source the best tea, coffee and an unusual wine list.

HEAD BAKER
This role is based in our Orford bakehouse and would involve leading our team of six bakers and pastry chefs to make bread and pastries for our busy Orford shop, our online shop, and a small group of local wholesale customers.

Working with sourdough, a range of yeasted breads, viennoiserie and pastry, and including seasonal baking of Panettone and Colomba di Pasqua, this is a role which will provide breadth and new experiences. We pride ourselves in our dedicated team and our quality equipment. There will be the opportunity to work with the team to develop new products and integrate products into our chocolate range.

This is a full time, permanent, salaried role, the salary range is from £30-34k per annum depending on experience. Must be available for weekend and night shifts. Relocation assistance will be provided if required.

SENIOR BAKER
This role is based in our Orford bakehouse and involves joining our team of six bakers and pastry chefs to make bread and pastries for our busy Orford shop, our online shop, and a small group of local wholesale customers. Experience of sourdough baking is a plus, but not necessary. At least two years experience in a bakery environment or equivalent experience is needed.

This role is a full time (40+ hours), permanent, hourly-paid role, the salary range is starting at £10/hour, or more depending on experience. Must be available for weekend and night shifts.

SUMMER RETAIL TEAM MEMBER
This role is based in our Orford shop and involves joining our team to deliver outstanding service to our customers buying bread, pastries and coffee.

This role is a fixed term and part time, hourly-paid role at £9/hour. Must be available for weekend shifts. The hours are generally between 8 am and 5pm Wednesday to Sunday.

OCCASIONAL DRIVER
This role is based in Orford and involves driving our delivery van to deliver to our shop and to our wholesale customers, usually weekends and for holiday cover. A full, clean UK driving license is required.
