MASTER LETTER CARVER, CHARLOTTE HOWARTH, TALKS TO KAROLINE NEWMAN

Master letter carver, Charlotte Howarth, in conversation with Karoline Newman, will unlock the secrets of the lettering treasures she discovered while on a study tour of Greece and Italy, through the Winston Churchill Memorial Trust Travelling Fellowship. Charlotte will discuss how, by seeing the lettering in its original location, she was re-inspired by the inscriptional lettering of the ancient Greeks and the Roman Empire. She’ll demonstrate how the ‘classical’ alphabets need not be formal and restrained, but can provide an informal and joyous foundation that inspires her work today.

Tickets £10, free entrance to Friends of the Lettering Arts Trust
