3rd Annual Orford Real Food Market

June 14th is the date for the 3rd Annual Orford Real Food Market.

Started in 2012 to raise awareness and funds for Orford School’s Kitchen Garden Project the market has proved to be a honeypot for the lovers of good local food. This year’s event has most of the producers who were at the market in 2012 and 2013 including Orford Country Market plus some exciting new producers.

As well as offering fresh produce direct from the producer, the market this year will be offering a wide range of street food to be enjoyed in the central Meet and Eat Zone. The menu will include David Grimwood from The Froize with ‘Gloria’s take on game, bacon and Blythburgh pork with Pump Street Bakery bread, the E8 Food Company with Suffolk salt beef brisket and pickled cabbage in Adnams sour dough roll, slow braised Suffolk lamb shoulder burger, mint salad and pickled shallots in a rosemary brioche and spicy fish dog with crunchy, zesty salad in a warm tortilla.

The Thomas Marshall Education Fund will be offering strawberries and cream with tea plus a Tombola with foodie prizes.

This year’s market will run from 9.30am to 2.30pm so why not spend some time meeting the people who produce our local high quality food and sampling their excellent products.

Proceeds from the market will go to Thomas Marshall Education Fund.
